Our Team

United Voices for Newcomer Rights has a team of interpreters, translators, community leaders, staff members, board members, and community advisors who all work together to help run the organization

Our team of experienced community leaders come from various countries across the world, including, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Burundi, Egypt, Iran, Democratic Republic of Congo and more. They speak over 8 languages, including Dari, Pashto, French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Arabic, Spanish and more. Many were once newcomers themselves, and some were even past participants in RIWP.

The United Voices for Newcomer Rights Board of Directors brings expertise from many different fields and variety of experiences with the newcomer community in Albuquerque. The provide direction and guidance to the staff and oversee the program implementation and financials of the organization.

UVNR has a Community Advisory Council that meets quarterly to discuss various areas of the program. The advisors also represent various agencies working with refugees in Albuquerque, past participants, and other experienced individuals. This council has representatives from all of the nationalities we work with.
